The Society of Illustrators of New York - honoured with several awards from the show, including over thirty Awards of Merit and also a Silver Medal.

1997-2004
The Best of Fantasy Art Competition - numerous paintings have been chosen for publication in Spectrum's Fantasy Art Annual. Honoured with Gold Medals in 2001 and 2004.

1994-2004
Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles - honoured with several awards from the show, including three Joseph Morgan Henniger Awards, "Best of Show" in 1997, 2002 and 2003; Patrick Nagel Award of Excellence in 2001 and 2002; Gold Medal, 1994; Silver Medals, 1995, 1996, 1998, 2003 and 2004; Bronze Medal in 1996.

1995 & 2000 - 2003
Accepted in the prestigious Communication Arts publication. In 2003, a series of three paintings were accepted, titled "Ladies and Eggs."

2001
Awarded "Best of Show" - Society of Illutrators of Pittsburgh.

1994 & 1997
Honoured with two Gold medals from The Pittsburgh Addy Awards.

1996
A painting titled "Dead Pope" was selected for the Museum of American Illustrators' permanent collection.

1995
Summit Award - Marketing and Advertising award for Art Institute International.
 
David also has two paintings (covers for TIME magazine) in the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C.
